Repair & restore

Dental crowns in Littleborough

A damaged or broken tooth can drain your confidence, and can become a bigger problem if it is left. A crown protects it and restores a healthy, bright smile.

About dental crowns

Dental crowns are a permanent, practical and cosmetic solution for damaged teeth. If we cannot repair your tooth with a simple filling or inlay, we will usually recommend a crown, which fits over the whole visible part of the tooth like a cap.

We offer gold and ceramic crowns. If you would prefer no metal at all, we can fit Procera or e.max all-ceramic crowns where they are suitable for your teeth.

Dental Crowns

When a crown is the right choice

  • Large fillings

When a tooth is more filling than tooth, a crown holds it together.

  • After root canal

Root-filled back teeth are more brittle, and a crown protects them from cracking.

  • Cracked or broken teeth

A crown can rescue a tooth that has split or lost a large corner.

  • Appearance

Badly discoloured or misshapen teeth can be transformed with a natural-looking crown.

What happens

Three calm steps

  1. Step 1: Prepare

Your dentist gently shapes the tooth so the crown can fit over it.

  2. Step 2: Impression

We take an impression, which goes to a dental laboratory to make your crown. You wear a temporary in the meantime.

  3. Step 3: Fit

We check the fit, colour and bite, then cement your new crown in place with a special adhesive.
