Check-ups and general dentistry in Littleborough
Our aim is simple: to protect and maintain your natural teeth. A regular check-up is where that starts, with a calm, unhurried look at your teeth, gums and mouth.

About dental check-ups
We provide both NHS and private dental care. At each check-up your dentist examines your teeth, gums, tongue and soft tissues, checks old fillings and crowns, and takes X-rays when they are needed. Everything is explained in plain English, and you will always be told about your options and their costs before anything happens.
Our dentists keep up to date with the latest developments in dentistry, and other dentists in the area refer their difficult or specialist cases to us. That experience is there for every patient, from a first check-up to complex restorative work.

What happens
Three calm steps
Step 1: Book
Book online or call us. Let us know if you are nervous, so we can allow a little extra time.
Step 2: Chat and check
We go through your medical history, listen to any concerns, then examine your mouth.
Step 3: Plan together
We explain what we found and agree any treatment and your next recall date with you.
NHS dental charges
NHS dental charges are set nationally in three bands. You can see the current charges on the NHS website (opens in a new tab). NHS availability changes over time, so please call us on 01706 376523 to ask whether we can see you on the NHS.
Good to know
Check-ups & General Dentistry: your questions answered
Are you an NHS dentist?
Yes, we provide NHS dental care as well as private treatment. NHS availability changes, so please call us on 01706 376523 to ask whether we are able to take you on as an NHS patient right now.
How often should I have a check-up?
It depends on your mouth. Some people need a check-up every three months, others every two years. Your dentist will recommend a recall interval based on your own risk of decay and gum disease.
How much is a private check-up?
A private new patient exam is £65 and a routine exam is £45. A scale is £45.
I have not been to a dentist for years. Is that a problem?
Not at all, and you will not be judged. Lots of our patients come back after a long gap. We will start gently, look at what is going on, and make a plan at a pace that suits you.
